Carol Rickey
My paintings are about the beauty and whimsy in objects around us, whether I’m painting figures, still-lifes, or landscapes. I like to play with light and shadow to give depth, and to give an Impressionistic flavor to my work.
I love both watercolor and oil painting. There is something special about the spontaneity and transparency of watercolor. With oil I like the slower process, and the rich, vibrant colors that I create.
I am currently studying painting at the Art Students League in Manhattan, and I also paint in my home studio.
