Holger Keifel

Holger Keifel is a German-born photographer, who captures the many facets of his adopted and native lands through the focused lens of portraiture. He turns his attention to lesser-known communities, immersing himself in their codes and practices, and ultimately documenting fragments of our common humanity.

Keifel’s works are included and exhibited in many museum collections: The National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, The Butler Institute of American Art, The Charles Schulz Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, as well as the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Born in Germany, Keifel moved to New York City in 1993, where he lives and works.
