Lana Cheng

Complementing the figurative with the surrealistic, and at times fusing the organic with technology, I explore diverse themes and subject matters to deliver visually compelling artworks. Whether it be a traditional subject matter or conceptual idea, my work embraces the idea that life is ever changing, and as an artist, I aim to evolve continually, and to ever expand my repertoire.

Inspired by serendipitous sightings in my surroundings, I develop ideas and then create by using unexpected colors, textures, and surprise elements in a new composition. Working with themes of flora and fauna, still lives, architecture, land- and cityscapes, portraits, the abstract and conceptual, and employing a striking color palette, I render a fresh perspective on the familiar or innovate new images.
