Born and raised in New York City, Alexandra Rowley is an award-winning  visual artist whose work has been exhibited internationally in solo and  group shows at galleries as well as art foundations.

Alexandra brings a powerful, sophisticated sense of humanity to her  work.  Her photographs and installations employ minimalist language to  explore various social and cultural institutions—family, home, legacy,  financial and cultural structures, traditional masculinity —with nuance  and lyricism. She often explores her subjects in series, delving into an  almost forensic archival practice that results in multiple typologies  while also focusing on creative process and connection.

Deeply knowledgeable about both the history and technical aspects of art  and photography, she is on the faculty at the International School of  Photography. Alexandra's work is currently on view at Otras Formas  Gallery on West 20th Street, and at Dina Mitrani Gallery in Miami FL.
