Artist Bio:
Alice has lived in the NYC area for over 30 years. She received her BFA in Painting at Hunter College in 2004. Her work can be seen locally in restaurants and other alternative spaces, as well as galleries. She has worked on several commissions privately and for Interior Designers in the NYC and New Jersey area for both private and public spaces. Most notably with Whitehall Interiors for The Skyline Tower Lobby in LIC and Ashcroft Capital Offices in NYC. For the past year and a half Alice has had several of her paintings in a residency for the Company "Resident", a pop up restaurant space for foodies and art lovers alike.
In addition to painting, Alice is the Founder and Curator of the “Brick Wall Gallery” at the restaurant Bar Dalia in Astoria, NY. As a curator, she wanted to create a space to help support local Artists’s by providing a space for them to show their work and be seen. Alice continues to create out of her studio at Studio 34 in LIC, NY, where she also curates group exhibitions for the Studio 34 Gallery.
Artist Statement:
I draw my inspiration from the textures and contrasts of the urban environment I have called home for over 28 years. My art is a continuous journey of discovery, defined by bold mark-making and the evolution of energy and balance. Through a process of intuitive brushwork, layering, and refining, I like to capture the dynamic interplay between texture and space, inviting viewers to engage with the ever-changing landscape of my work.
