Artist Statement:
My urge to create comes from the world of kinesthetics. It is my need to dramatize the complexities of human anatomy in movement that helps me unravel the true essence of human possibilities. It is by discovering the variations of movements that I discover the pinnacle moment of movement which incorporates the theme which represents my work.
It is through my observation of people in motion or observing the models who pose for me that I learn what the person is physically about which gives me insight to excute my concept.
Sculptors design their work like painters design their work. Composition gives meaning in sculpture as in painting. Painters compared to sculptors have a few techniques which have been developed through the ages viewing 2-dimensional space to feel like 3 dimensions. The discovery of perspective in painting has allowed the artist the span of theatre. The viewer is invited into thinking he is seeing and moving around inside the canvas almost as an animation.
