Artist Bio:
Collage is an act of discovery- an intuitive excavation of meaning through fragments of imagery, texture, and form. It starts with a few words or an idea that are reflected in selected images that have been collected over time. As I place, layer, and weave these elements together, unexpected relationships emerge, guiding me toward new perspectives.
In many ways the process mirrors the way of the world - a layered construct of meaning where different perspectives shape our understanding. Some of these layers are uncovered through direct experience and experimentation, while others exist only in dreams and speculation. Collage, with its ability to build, obscure, and reveal through tearing, marking, and weaving, is uniquely suited to exploring these complexities. It allows multiple narratives to exist simultaneously, inviting the viewer to engage with the work to assemble and deconstruct meaning in their own way.
