Stewart Siskind

Stewart Siskind has been intrigued by printed matter since he worked as an art director. His love of the medium has inspired him to breathe new life and meaning into discarded material by creating collages that resonate with bold graphic structures and subtle psychological undercurrents. Inspired by design, fashion and architecture, each collage is hand crafted with rich color and infinite precision. The materials are recycled into compositions, creating a lively exchange with new dimensions. Shapes and patterns that emerge are like puzzle pieces arranged to create encounters between figure and ground. Siskind earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts and did postgraduate studies in color theory at Parsons School of Design.
